Project 4: THE ART OF MELBOURNE

The Art of Melbourne from EmotionsART on Vimeo.

This is one of my best videos ever. This video work is a combination of the beauty of Melbourne in my vision which Close -up shots have been bringing to me and making me realise. This beauty for me is an Art with street artists, color-block mixture natural and artificial works. I was deeply impressed in those wonders while I was capturing them. This is also an improvement in research of the Close-up shots when I recognised that Close-up shot- as an affordance of my phone, actually have not only helped me in discovery the beautiful things in life but also made me felt creative and happy with my discovery. Close-up shot at this moment becomes a part of my daily life of enjoying and exploring.

As you can see in the video, I combined some of new beautiful footages I shot with my previous videos. Which I like best about my phone camera is that it is convenient and comfortable to capture everything quickly with only a touch and easy to zoom in and out with another touch on the screen. I applied that mainly to every single shot of my video to emphasise the way i felt the beauty. Unlike my previous sketches, in this video, I decided to get rid of the background noise and add in an exciting beat as a connection of my footages. It is not a long video, but I hope you can find it interesting and enjoy watching!

Project 3: Sketch 04

On the same day that I went to the St. Kilda beach with my friends and walk along on the street to Luna park where is a historic amusement park in Melbourne and there a signature, which is the face in front of the park, so I am shooting some of the face’s part to explore that an audience can guess where is it in Melbourne?

Close-up shots came to me when I started using my smartphone camera to capture things. By using zoom function from the phone camera itself or with zoom tools for mobile such as lens, I have shot beautiful scenes when I settled my new life in Melbourne. Thank to close-up shots, I have discovered the beauty of Melbourne, which you can see in this sketch.

Melbourne in my vision is splendid more due to colorful architecture that indeed does not need to be complicated. The mix of color in close up shots helped me emphasized that beauty more clearly and impressively. The details of the face at the gate such as eyes, lips seemed to be carefully designed and built. You will be impressed when you came to Luna Park.

As my Samsung phone has an auto-contrast fixed camera that provides me with beautiful images with right colors so I did not have to do much editing for this video. In the middle of the video where I emphasized the whole face-gate, you can see that I used a zoom tool to cover my phone camera to make the close-up shots better and the black zoom circle frame made users put attention into the gate. I did not add any music in as the real background noise brings the viewer to the exciting moments in the park and let them want to come and visit. Enjoy my video!

Project 3: Sketch 03

My third sketch was a bit blurry as I moved the camera to capture the bee collect nectar by usingExtreme close up lens (ECU lens) so I can capture that shot easily to get. This is something which I would like to carry on for my second sketches; make a statement of what I want the audience to understand even though the picture itself may not be so clear.

Project 3: Sketch 02

I went on the St. Kilda beach with my friends. On that day the weather was great and the sky was beautiful. I put my phone downside so I can see my feet walk along on the street to the beach via many locations then I am editing to continued by using my left and right foot and changed the background.

Follow my steps and you can feel the differences! For me, every inch of Melbourne where I went through is pretty. When I came from Melbourne Central to the St Kilda Beach, what I aimed to do was to capture where I had been passed by, but the close-up shot actually helped me to explore the amazing roads and places on my way. This time I did not use much zoom to get the closest look, the zoom function in my phone, in fact, was controlled at pretty high level, not the highest, so that viewers can change their focus on my feet to the places I stopped by. Melbourne, in my point of view, is amazing in the way it built and created and everything is put in the tiny and perfect order, which you can observe through my sketch above.

In this sketch, again, I did not put any beat in since the environment sounds became natural evidences of where I went through while I did not need to put more details about that. As that was a wonderful sunny day so the sunlight itself created good color impact that I did not have to use any editing effect to emphasize. I mostly used cut and split to make my sketch not boring in a long video with my feet only. The background was changed quickly and it was better more than any effects input. Watch my video!
